Been a while. Did you miss me?.

Ok been a while since I posted here, been a little busy at work, and also had a bit of Man Flu. But feeling better now. So this is a bit of a catch up.

So lets start with car. Well at last Mercedes have fixed it to my satisfaction. Just sad that it has taken a month of arguments, them saying it was OK be saying its not etc. So I had a drive down to the office in Forest of Dean on Wednesday  after picking it up in the morning and it was again a pleasure to drive. So it looks like I will have to stick with it.

Golf, well last weekend was again very busy. This started on Friday evening when we had the final of TGI. Maybe we need to play a little earlier next year as my fourball finished in the DARK. OH NO that means winter is just around the corner, I can feel my SAD starting already. Anyway we had  another great turn out on Friday and congratulations to Neal Marroitt who won this years comp with 66 points (best 3 scores over 9 holes)
Saturday morning was a stableford and it is about time I got my handicap back to 7. The last 4 comps I had managed 0.1 to get back to 8(7.6) so a 76 was required. My three ball with John Reeves and Peter West all played well and we had great fun, and I made it to the 18th and was on the green for 3 and that left me with an 8 foot putt for my 76 and a guaranteed cut, I was a little bold and it was 3 feet past, then missed that and to top off I went to tap it in and missed that too. So I ended up walking off with a 79 after 4 putting the last. If the air looks a little blue over the 18th green you can understand why.
On to Sunday and it was time for our annual match against the Ladies where the looser win the wooden spoon. Last year the ladies beat the men with a format that was fourball better ball, off full handicap with 2 extra shots for the ladies. So this year I got to choose the format :-) So I decided we would play fourball better ball but all playing off the ladies tees. To even it up a little we would give the ladies 4 additional shots on their handicaps. I thought this would be a close format but it turned out the Mens side played well and we ended up 8-0 ooops. But it was pleasure to present the ladies with the wooden spoon. It was of course a fun day and played in great spirit and I am sure the ladies will come up with a format next year that will make it more difficult again. 2 of the highlights for me were one of the Men (no names of course) hitting a drive which he thought was great down the 12th, only to be out driven by one of the ladies he was playing with a then being asked "how does that feel" Another highlight as i waited to walk over the bridge on the 10th I here a splash front the tee, and then the immortal words from one of the guys "I have not done that for year".

This weekend we have our match against Cranleigh (a must win), the mixed club champs on Sunday, and then Monday I play at Singing Hills with Andy in a Captain/Secretary event.
