On Sunday Rob Croxford and I took on Brian Cairns and Steve English in the Slinfold Plate Semi Finals. So I was giving the shots and at 3/4 Handicap that was 8 to Rob, 5 to Brian and 3 to Steve. Rob and I played well on the front 9 and we were 1 up at the turn. But of course that is not always enough. on the back 9 Brian and Steve played well and with a net birdie on the 10th, a birdie on the 13th and a win on 15 with a par they were back at all square again. We halved the 16th and then Brian made a great net birdie making use of his final 5th shot on 17 to get the 1 up. So all down to the 18th again and both Brian and I were level with the green just up on the right. Brian put his chip about 20 feet past where as I was about 7 feet away with a straight up hill putt. So the 19th was looking good, until Brian sunk his straight in the middle for birdie and the Match. So well played boys and they move onto the final.
On Bank Holiday Monday we had the Coker shield. This was great day and again it was 4BBB format. I played with Barbara Wilson, Ladies Vice Captain, and although we played well only managed 34 points. This ended up being 10 points behind the eventual winners, Karen and John who scored a magnificent 44 points with a gross 72 between them. Well played.....
Oh and the car, still arguing, got to let them try again to fix it so new injectors again.
