Today we played Bletchingly in our penultimate friendly of the season. For this match we play for the Friendship Cup and this is played over the 2 legs, home and away, but this year we were at a significant disadvantage as we lost the away leg 5-1. So after our breakfast and a little bit of confusion over the teams as one of the Bletchingly guys did not turn up a big rally call to the troops, only 6-0 will do.
So today I was playing with John Jordan again and we had a great match against the Bletchingly captain John and match organiser Tim. We played well together but somehow as we reached the 13th we 2 down with 5 to play. Of course I had to use Terry's line at this stage, 2 up five to play never wins, and they had this before too. Well we went on to win two of the next four holes and were on the 18th all square and with both John and I making Par we went on to win the match 1 up. As the rest of the team came in the results were looking good with win following win and as the last made it up the 18th we found out we had won 6-0. So the Friendship Cup stays at Slinfold.
