So on Sunday I had my next Captain Pro challenge. And with Lloyd being injured Andy McNiven kindly agreed to step in for this match. This time we were up against Ray Fisher (15) and Alec McHale (26) so there were a lot of shots floating around and they also agreed to take me up on my additional £50.00 bet for charity so I had a lot to play for.
We lost the second but went on to win 3 and 4 and get back to 1 up and I thought we were OK at this point. That was when the Alec McHale train came in and with Pars on the next three holes giving him birdie/eagle/birdie we were suddenly 2 down. We made the half on 8 and were looking good on 9 as I had made Par and Alec was off the green, behind the bunker in 2. But Alec went on to chip over the bunker to about 10 Feet and hole the put for another net birdie and at the turn that was it, 3 down at the turn.Shots on the next 3 holes 10,11 and 12 meant Andy and I felt like we had been hit by a train and were 6 down with 6 to play. Time to regroup, and luckily the McHale train had come off the track. So Pars on 13,14 and 15 were good enough to get us back to 3 down, but a half in 3's on 16 was good enough for the boys to win, 3&2.
So £50 down for me this time and now been beaten twice, both 3&2. I will have to work on how this should be decided.
