The Weekend Starts Here

So the last Bank Holiday Weekend of the year. It has all gone much too quickly again but 3 and half days of golf and lets hope the rain stays away at least while I am playing.

So first a car update. Got it back last Friday and as soon as I got it I heard a sort of rattle, or pinking noise if it was petrol. Send it back in on Monday and was told they were working on it, then on Tuesday they called to say they had tested and no problem found. I got it back noise still there. A few calls later and on Friday I took out another C250 and this did sound different and drove better. Finally got Mercedes technician to agree there is a rattle associated with the new injectors as they have had to change them to have a larger inlet hole (if anyone want to know why I am now an expert, thanks google). As far as driving differently they "reset" the adaptive gear box and now it seems better. But enough is enough, today I asked for my back and I will return the car, lets see what the reaction is from the mangers on Tuesdsay. Test drove a BMW this afternoon, oh the dark side is calling.

Golf wise I have been really suffering with my putting, sometimes you just can't get something right and I know it is a mental problem with me (not that I am mental although others may argue). Today I played with Colin Dow and James Claydon in the Stableford, and we had good fun but again I managed 39 Putts in my 86 so if only I could take that back to 30 I would be hitting my 77's and see the handicap come down but at the moment it is a lot of 0.1 and I am now fixed back at 8. I think I need a night in with Mr Bob Rottella.
On Friday we had the penultimate TGI Friday for the year. This has been very well supported this year and the finals night is on Friday 10th Sept. I hope as many people as possible can get play that day and the table is very tight with the top 5 all having their lowest points at 19 or above for the 9 holes. We will be getting a new shield for the competition this year as the last one went missing and I hope next year it can grow even more.
So tomorrow I have the Semi Finals of the Slinfold Plate and on Monday Coker Sheild. I am sure I will see you at the club over the weekend.

  1. Sounds like the supply of goods act needs to take priority and a new car supplied to replace what after a very short period of time is defective goods -- bring on the brand new mercedes!!

  2. Shame about the Merc, but surely nothing can be so bad as to consider a BMW... they say so much about you..

  3. The question is, does it say that about you when you buy the BMW. Or does the BMW change you and then they say that about you. Because if they already say that about me I may as well get one.
And if not a BMW what should I get???

  4. But if you don't like what a BMW says about you at all, and you think maybe it's too late, perhaps it's time for reflection..... going deep here !!

  5. Definitely the Sale of Goods Act. Your original purchase has changed from what you were led to believe from the outset. Therefore you have the choice to accept the changes or demand a full refund.

  6. Trading Standards - well the ruling is you have to let them try to fix a new car three times before you can win. Spoke to trading standards today and their advice was I need to get a solicitor involved but at best would be 50:50 to reject the car as not fit for purpose. Good site here http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights .
I could of course take them to court and then it would be down to a judge on the day if he says he believes the car is not what it should be. Today they offered my the chance to take injectors out of a car that is running correctly and have them put into my car or have all my injectors replaced with new again. I have told them I will decide in the morning what I want to do.
