So not the best result last night in the "soccer". Green fingers were Butter fingers, or is Obama getting his own back and put oil on his gloves.
OK Sunday morning and I was little tired after 36 holes Saturday, but today we play for RMC Trophy. We play a par/bogey competition for this which is matchplay against the course using handicap, so net par is half, net birdie or better a win or by bogey or worse a loss. I was playing with Don Peacock and Gary Laker and I was looking forward to it. I bogeyed the first for loss, but the pin was in very difficult place. But I managed to recover from this and made birdies at 5 and 8 to get to 2 up and with a back 9 to handicap I shot a 77 to stay at 2 up. Don played very well and shot his best score around Slinfold of 81 to go 4 up. There were however a couple of better scores with Nick Lord 5up and a 75 and Paul Williams 7up. As the standard scratch went stayed at 71 my score was good enough to take me to 7 again, will I Hood onto it this time?
Next weekend is a busy one for me. On Friday afternoon I have captain/pro, Saturday I am starting and playing in the stableford, then Sunday I have captain/pro in morning and slinfold plate knockout in afternoon. So if you see me looking a little tired at any time please feel free to feed and water me to keep me going. This is one occasion you can feed the animals.
