Today Rob Croxford and I took on Malcolm Banham and Charles Edwards in the Winter Foursomes. I knew it was going to be a tough match as we had to give them 9 shots, and they then opened up with a birdie at the first (not a shot hole). But we proceeded to give each other holes in a Match that was up and down all the way and we finally came to last and were just 1 down (that birdie on the first). But I should not complain as put a little too much draw on my tee shot down 18 and it went out of bounds only to hit a tree and come back about 10 yard inside the fence again. We went on to make a Par but a bogey with a shot gave Malcolm and Charles a half and the match. Good luck in the next Semi Finals.
It was also interesting to see that people think I know more about people than I actually do. I was today asked, too interesting questions from Members. One said "do I know the guy wearing a stripe T-Shirt last Saturday (a big guy)" and another asked if I knew" "the name of the guy they play with regularly". You may be surprised to hear that I did not know the answer to either of these questions, maybe I should pay more attention.
Tomorrow we have the first match in the Mail on Sunday Competition at Gatton Manor. Team of 5, 5 x singles matches full handicap difference.. Lets hope the weather is good to us and also the golf.
