So on Monday we played for the Easter Shield. This is a mixed competition in four ball better ball format, however in this occasion it was played off full handicap (an interesting challenge). The ladies organise the mixed competitions and had done a fantastic job with some great prizes and raffle that managed to raise £75.00 for the charity.
I was playing with Barbara Wilson, Ladies VC, and we were paired with Sandra and Jerry Stobbs. We had a fun day of golf but the wind was very strong and made the conditions tough. However it was good to see the course drying out a little. The winning score was 41 Points from Derick and Jenny Shadbolt, and Barbara did manage to walk away with nearest the pin on the 7th.
So this weeks it looks like it will dry out a little, both the men and ladies play the 3rd round of the Mail On Sunday, this weekend. The men will be following the ladies round so lets hope for 2 good wins (and don't hold us up ladies, lol).
