Golf With Ryan, Dominic and Terry - On My Brithday!!

So today Ryan, Terry and I headed up to Mill Ride to meet with Dominic for a round of golf. This was a deal that Terry agreed to last year during his Captaincy that he would go in the Gym if Dom would get back on the golf course, for those who may not know Dom is a PGA Pro and has been to tour school in his time of playing.
I am sure Terry has been in the Gym, however I am often up there but have never seen him:-) When asked I managed to swing it so it was today, 15th April, my Birthday. What a treat.
So after arriving at Mill Ride and the traditional warm up, bacon sandwich and coffee, we headed out the the course. It was always going to be Terry and I verses Dominic and Ryan in a 4BBB, but the only discussion was the shots, as Dominic insisted he had not played for ages he managed to negotiate a H/Cap of 4, and Ryan pleaded he had not played recently either, so he stayed on Scratch (more like +3). Then Dom opened up with a fantastic drive, another 2 shots to the green, and makes birdie on the Par 5 first, he then makes 4 on the second, with a shot and wins that too. I think we were being turned over. It did not help that my partner, Terry, was suffering from a bad back, and on the 2nd put his drive in a bunker and said "I am not going to try to play that it is over to you". So I hoped no more bunkers for Terry today.
Of course at the third, Par 3, Terry hits it in the Greenside bunker, and with a shot he walked up to it with the words "Oh I suppose I have got to play this one". Which he then managed to get up and down for a 3 net 2 to win the hole. Ryan and Dom went on to continue to dove-tail well together and after 8 we were 3 down. On the 9th Ryan was 6 feet form the Pin in 2 and I was out of it as I put my drive OB, Terry could not find his ball, he thought he had hit it a little left and we could not find it, then Ryan spotted it, somehow in the green side Bunker ( I think the words of Dom were "why did you tell him). Oh no another Bunker shot from Terry, which of course he hit out and put to within 6 inches and won the hole with a shot. So from being four down in my mind we ended up walking to the 10th 2 down. But it did not last and they ended up beating us 4&3.
We decided to play the last three holes as skins, £1.00 a hole each, the first 2 were halved and we came to the last, a Par five with water all around the green and approach. I managed to hit Drive and 8 Iron to the green (it was wind behind off the front tees) about 8 feet from the hole (at last I had remembered how to play golf), and Ryan was about 40 Feet away and Dom 15 feet away. Ryan then holed his eagle put and then Dom did the same. So halved in eagles, and of course I missed by little 8 footer.
But a great day and Dom treated us to the day including Lunch and couple of beers. I just want to wait for the rematch now, next time it is ours. Thanks Guys.
