Scratch Practice Match v Mid Sussex

On a wonderful sunny morning we headed up to Mid-Sussex for a practice match for the scratch team. There were meant to be 12 a side but Richard Clegg is stuck in Germany or Switzerland. Another time that Iceland have messed us up over the past few years.
So we ended up with 11 a side, playing one partner for the first nine and a second partner for the second nine. In my fourball I was paired with the assistant pro, who was "making up the numbers". I managed to loose very convincingly to him, he hit the ball the furthest I ever seen anyone hit, and he explained that when he was tested for his new driver he had an average carry of 305 Yards !!!!!! Overall we won the match 11.5-9.5 so a good start to the season. The first match is on the 8th May at West Sussex and we will be looking for Caddies to help so if anyone is interested please let John Jordan know.
On Sunday I played round Slinfold again for the first time in a week and was pleased to see how well the course has dried out. As was pointed out to me by Brian Johnstone 2 weeks ago we did not think we would be saying "we could do with a little rain".
