Well it was great to go up to the club this morning and see everyone, some with worse hangovers than others, no names mentioned but you know who you are. Thanks to you all for the kind words and messages of support, I am really looking forward to this year. It was very weird as everyone said "Hello Captain"
It was a little cold but we (Rob England, Paul Dolan and Myself) did go out and play today. The course was in good condition considering the rain we have recently and I am glad the captaincy did not negatively impact the golf. It was cold and on the front 9 all the greens were a little icy so the ball bounced on and on the back 9 they thawed out so it just stayed where it landed. I shot a 79 with 3 birdies so that’s a good start to the year. We played Skins and I won 9 Rob 8 and Paul 1, I will leave you all to make your own jokes up about my Scottish friend Paul putting his hand in his pocket for us on the first day of the year, Sorry Paul, Happy Hogmanay.
Tomorrow I play my winter foursomes match, better wrap up warm I think it may be little cold, look out the Baker Boys.
