Ouch my head hurts

So we had indeed won third prize and this of course commenced a night of celebration. This started with a few drinks in the bar after golf and of course in Portugal we could watch the football live. Manchester United (my team because I live in the south)
duly won so one more beer to celebrate that.
The presentation included a free bar so a few more drinks and we were presented with our third prize. This was a Callaway 60 degree wedge with MD grooves. I have one of these already and it is a fantastic club for those difficult shots around the green. The ball spins very easy from it so you can get it to stop quickly from those tricky lies. I will be replacing mine with the new club so every time I hit a shot I can remember the good times in Portugal.
Something to eat and it seemed like a good idea to sample the nightlife as we didn’t have to play golf the next day. We hit a few bars and ended up in a Karaoke bar where I again thought I could sing. As you may see from the photo I am a good advert as to why people of my age should not be allowed to drink. I did eventually make it back the hotel and as I staggered in to bed the clock said 4:00 am. It was a good job the three other boys were sensible enough to go to bed a little earlier and they did manage to wake me up at 7:30, and I still had to pack my bags before we left at 8:00 for the airport but we made it to the airport for our 10:30 flight. However it was probably the quietest I had been all holiday.
So back in the UK and back to work today, just writing this as I travel home on the train from a meeting in London. Tonight it is the first liaison meeting with the new captains and vice-captains at the club, but I don’t think there is much to report as the course has been closed for such as long period. I am looking forward the competition this weekend, as long as we don’t get any more snow or rain and the course can open, I somehow feel I will not be in just a T-Shirt as I was in Portugal.
I hope you enjoyed my self indulgent ramblings about my time in Portugal and now I may be back to less regular updates, but I am sure there will still enough going on this year to fill the blog with some interesting tales.
